As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate, Mahzad Mohajer is equipped to address the complexities of being multicultural in the U.S. In her experience as a therapist, she knows how difficult it is for clients to trust their therapist. It’s hard to open up when talking to a complete stranger, so once that trust is established, clients will find it easier to disclose to a therapist. And more so, what the client hopes to gain out of therapy in regard to reaching their goals.
Mahzad’s experience in healthcare has taught her the importance of compassion, clear communication, and understanding of the impact of health on family dynamics. She brings a combination of empathy, strategic thinking, and a client-centered approach to every session. Mahzad has the versatility to reach clients and understand the depths of their struggles. She firmly believes that getting to know the client for who they are is extremely crucial to what they want to get out of therapy. As an intern at the VA DeBakey Medical Center, Mahzad specialized in working with veterans (mostly couples) who suffered from PTSD, depression, anxiety, and trauma-related issues. She is also certified as a Nurturing Families Facilitator.
Mahzad specializes in helping clients with Anger Management, Anxiety, Depression, Divorce, Family Marital and Premarital conflict, relationship issues, stress, trauma and PTSD, impulse control disorders, and mood disorders.
