Mohamed Ahmed, MD

Board-certified adult and child psychiatrist Mohamed S. Ahmed, MD, brings more than 20 years of experience in psychiatry and clinical research to The PsyClinic in River Oaks, Webster, and Baytown, Texas, serving men, women, and families throughout Harris County and the Houston Metropolitan Area.

Before entering private practice, Dr. Ahmed completed a general psychiatry residency and a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas. Since then, he’s served in various capacities, including chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at Methodist Hospital, Baytown, and is currently a clinical assistant professor at UTMB, department of psychiatry.

Dr. Ahmed’s passion for psychiatry stems from genuine compassion and concern for human suffering. Over the years, he’s established a stellar reputation with his clients and peers, earning several awards, including Best Psychiatrist in Baytown by the Baytown Sun and the Robert B White Clinical Excellence Award. Houstonia Magazine also named Dr. Ahmed one of the best doctors in Houston.

Professionally, Dr. Ahmed specializes in TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) of the brain and is one of this field’s pioneers in Texas. Dr. Ahmed loves getting to know his patients and sets aside plenty of time to fully understand their unique needs and concerns. After performing thorough clinical evaluations, he develops treatment plans that ease his patients’ suffering and improve their quality of life.
